Don’t Miss: The Suicide Squad – Review and Criticism (NO SPOILERS)
However, there may have been some doubts about what was seen in the ending and post-credit scenes of The Suicide Squad, sequences that will have an impact on the future of DC Comics in film and television.
Without further ado we explain the details of the ending of The Suicide Squad, and the importance of its post-credit scenes.
Jotunheim Mission
With The Thinkerer trapped, the Squad arrives at the Jotunheim facility to blow up the facility housing Project Starfish, where Rick Flag’s team disposes of the military guarding the building.
Authorities are on high alert while Special Force X places explosives in the building. Rick Flag and Ratcatcher 2 arrive at the facility where The Thinkerer has experimented with the enemies of the Corto Maltese regime.
Flag is determined to present these experiments to the press, but Peacemaker seeks to destroy the records, and thereby assassinates Flag and pursues Ratcatcher, until the site explodes, leaving Starro free to attack Corto Maltese.
Before Starro escapes, Peacemaker appears to have Ratcatcher at his mercy to destroy the disk with the experiment records, but Bloodsport arrives in time to save Cleo.
Starro Attacks
Starro begins to attack the city releasing the star spores, with which he subdues the military and the general population.
Faced with Amanda Waller’s refusal, the Squad is determined to save the people from Starro’s clutches, so the team of the leader of Task Force X betrays her to lead the villains into a confrontation against Starro.
The alien uses the population of Corto Maltese as puppets to liquidate Task Force X, who decide to apply the best strategy, divide and conquer
There is no small enemy
Although they manage to come together as a team, the remaining members of the Squad begin to get into serious complications, one of which costs Polka Dot-Man his life, while Harley Quinn and King Shark are trapped in a landslide.
When defeat haunts Bloodsport and Ratcatcher 2, Cleo calls a large army of rats, which attack Starro, who does not know what to do before the onslaught of rodents. Harley Quinn comes out of the rubble to help dig up the alien, who manages to free people from the trance before falling.
The aftermath of the mission
The team looks dejected after the death of Polka Dot-Man, while Waller, who is recovering from being knocked out by his subordinates at Belle Rave, receives the contents of the files on the disk, which he managed to upload to a Boodsport server.
Faced with the threat of making the files public if Robert Dubois’ daughter fell into Belle Reve, Bloodsport succeeds in getting Amanda Waller to free him, Harley Quinn, Ratcatcher and King Shark, who are rescued from the streets of Corto Maltese.
Post credits scene 1 – It was not dead
The film’s first post-credit scene takes us back to the night the Suicide Squad arrived in Corto Maltese, following the events that led to chaos and the death of several members of Waller’s team.
However, who appears on the scene is Weasel, who was believed dead, but this anthropoid weasel manages to elude death, so he runs free on the shores of the Caribbean country. Will it be the last time we see Weasel in action? It seems not.
Post credits scene 2 – The next mission
Emilia Harcourt and John Economos, members of Amanda Waller’s team from the Belle Rave command center appear at a hospital where they monitor the condition of Peacemaker, who survived the Bloodsport bullets.
Harcourt and Economos learn that Waller is after them after the betrayal at the Belle Rave control center, but both agents know that Peacemaker will be key to a new mission to save the world.
This second scene is important, since it will connect with the television series The Peacemaker, whose premiere will be in the month of January on digital platforms.
