Marvel, during its announcements at Comic-Con 2022, has shown the first trailer for Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever. It is the long-awaited sequel to the 2018 film starring Chadwick Boseman, who tragically died in August 2020. Ryan Coogler returns as director, with a mission to pay tribute to the actor and T’Challa, the character he played. Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Letitia Wright will be back.
Following Chadwick Boseman’s passing, Marvel confirmed that Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever I wouldn’t give the role of T’Challa to another actor, so the baton passes to another character. Little is known who he will be and, in fact, the first trailer for the film does not reveal it, although it is assumed that it will be someone from his family.
The first trailer for Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever shows some of those closest to T’Challa facing his death, at the same time we see the first images of the Atlantis, which come into conflict with the African country. One of them is namor, played by Tenoch Huerta (Narcos Mexico, Blue Demon). The actor learned a Mayan language for the role of him. There are not many more details, nor too many additional clues about the general plot of the film.
The film will also serve as an introduction to Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, who in the comics is a 15-year-old engineering student who designs Iron Man-like armor. At one point an AI version of Tony Stark. is installed in his suit. The character will have her own series on Disney+.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has suffered from filming delays due to on-set accidents, distancing and safety measures due to COVID-19 and rumors of problems on the recording set because Letitia Wright was not vaccinated. She was also criticized for sharing links to anti-vaccine videos. The actress denied being, but assured that it is “important to ask questions.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever It opens on November 11, 2022 in theaters around the world. It will be directed by Ryan Coogler and written by the director along with Joe Robert Cole. It stars Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Dominique Thorne, Tenoch Huertas, Florence Kasumba, and Michaela Coel.
