“At Warner we are increasing hours of anime programming. It is a content that has fans from less than 12 years old to 30 years old because it has evolved with the audience and we are going to increase the anime offer to our linear offer of the Warner channel from 5% to 10%, ”says Grossman in an interview with Expansion.
Other of his bets to keep his channels more attractive and current for his users, are live programs of Box, Wrestling, reality showsmovie premieres on its HBO channel, as well as making more productions of branded content, which is content associated with brands.
The director comments that the evolution of audiences forces producers like WarnerMedia to change the way they manage content, from what type of programs will appear on their grid to the schedules.
“In pay television, we are responsible for the consumer’s entertainment because the viewer is more passive, while the streaming is more active and demanding. The pay television consumer is more willing to accept the content that is shown as long as it is of quality”, he explains.
According to data from the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), at the end of 2022 there will be 21.5 million accesses to restricted television.
HBO Max, content for everyone
Almost a year after HBO Max arrived in Mexico, the director of WarnerMedia assures that the success of the platform is due to its content, and although it seems that the stories should be more regionalized, the content offered by the platforms of streaming they must “be able to travel to other territories”.
“A good story travels in all territories, it doesn’t matter who the protagonist is as long as it conveys that story in an excellent way, obviously the local idiosyncrasy has a specific weight in each of the results of that content, whether you are Mexican or Argentine , but in the end we want the content to be able to travel between all the territories so that they fulfill their main function, which is to entertain”, concludes Grossman.
