Walmart is one of the companies participating in PACIC 2.0 and therefore one of those that will enjoy these benefits, just like Chedraui and Soriana, and other large food manufacturers, such as Gruma and Bimbo.
López Obrador said that Walmart distributes 25% of all food consumed in the country. “If we add Chedraui and Soriana, who are also in the program (PACIC 2.0), they account for 50% (of food distribution) between the three of them,” he detailed.
“In the case of Walmart, an agreement was reached so that they display at the entrance of their stores the 24 products (of the basic basket) initially with the price of 1,039 pesos and with the commitment to lower it,” said López Obrador.
