Guilherme Loureiro, president and general director of the retail chain, highlighted during the inauguration of the center located in Plaza Oriente, the transformation of the company into a chain that has focused on developing a digital ecosystem.
“The transformation of the company began six years ago, we needed to strengthen our ability to put the customer at the center, we listened to their needs and learned that we can offer solutions beyond the purchase of their pantry,” said the manager.
Beatriz Núñez, senior vice president of growth for Walmex, announced that for now they will test this center model to define its expansion in the future.
“It depends on how quickly we can generate enough traffic to allow us to generate learnings. We don’t have a set time limit, it can be as fast as our customers’ trust allows us to learn, or as slow as we begin to understand that there are some things to fix and correct,” he said.
The company has been diversifying its business for some years, and now also offers mobile phone service, advertising sales and financial services.
Despite this diversification, the 2,890 stores in the retail chain in Mexico they continue to be the core of its business. Store formats include Bodega Aurrera, Mi Bodega, Bodegas Express, Walmart, Walmart Express and Sam’s Club.
