Four Oscar nominees head the cast of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the second film of Marvel’s most popular symbiote.
One of the things that those responsible for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is that its cast had to be large. Not only to guarantee a good box office –as is customary in Hollywood–, but also to do justice to two important characters who are finally making their film debuts. In the end, the tape directed by Andy Serkis meets and delivers one of the strongest casts in the universe from Marvel comic strips.
Who is in the cast of Venom: Let There Be Carnage?
Headed by Tom hardy and Michelle Williams Since the original 2018 film, the cast of Venom: Let There Be Carnage has the distinction of having four Oscar nominees, two of them playing antagonistic characters. It also presents the return of a secondary character that puts the romantic world of Eddie brock headlong and the subtle appearance of one of the world’s most iconic guests Spider-man.
Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock / Venom
There has certainly been no better actor to play the unfortunate reporter Eddie Brock than Tom Hardy. Unlike other representations on the screen, Hardy’s Brock has had to learn to live with the symbiote that inhabits his body, establishing a kind of marital relationship in the style of the “odd couple” with him.

In fact, Hardy, an Oscar nominee for his work on The Revenant (2015) and famous for his performance as Bane on The Dark Knight Rises (2012) of Christopher Nolan, is so involved in Venom history that he collaborated with Kelly marcel in the conception of the plot that later became the script for Let There Be Carnage.

Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady / Carnage
Although it had already appeared as Cletus Kasady In Venom’s post-credits scene, it wasn’t until 2021 that the world got to see the acclaimed actor Woody harrelson become the dangerous Carnage. In his role, the three-time Oscar nominee, he ticks all the boxes to take on the complex persona of the serial killer, all the while being thrown into a whirlwind of madness as soon as a remnant of symbiote enters his bloodstream.

Despite being famous for participating in franchises like The Hunger Games, Now you see me and ZombielandHarrelson had never played a Marvel character before, so his work within the Venom: Let There Be Carnage cast has gripped viewers since his announcement.

Michelle Williams as Anne Weying
After ending her love affair with Brock in the first Venom film, Michelle Williams returned to the lands dominated by the black symbiote for its sequel. Let us remember that the Oscar nominee plays in this Universe Anne Weying, lawyer and love interest of Eddie Brock who even ends up accepting the dark symbiote into his body to rescue him (becoming She-Venom in the process).

In the sequel, Weying’s presence continues to be important in Brock’s life, to the point of becoming an ally of Venom in his fight to stop the evils around him.

Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison / Shriek
After playing Moneypenny in the most recent films of James bond and be nominated for an Oscar for Moonlight, the english actress Naomie harris comes to the world of Marvel in one of the most attractive roles in the Spider-Man Cinematic Universe: Frances Louise Barrison.

Known in the comics as Shriek, the character is one of Venom’s most powerful nemesis and is distinguished by being able to handle sound energies and cause explosions with bursts of sound. This makes her an attraction to Carnage’s plans and a real danger to anyone who crosses her path.

Stephen Graham as Patrick Mulligan
In his comic book film debut, the English actor Stephen Graham became the officer Patrick Mulligan, an important piece in the Eddie Brock story. During the film, the law enforcement officer asks the reporter to meet with Kasady before he is executed. When the death sentence goes wrong and the serial killer turns into Carnage, Mulligan becomes suspicious of Brock’s involvement in the events.

It should be noted that in the comics, Patrick Mulligan receives a part of the Carnage symbiote and becomes Toxin, an antihero who uses his powers to do good … and sometimes to do evil.

Reid Scott as Dan Lewis
After his participation in the series Veep, Reid scott entered the world of Marvel as the first great opponent in the history of Eddie Brock: the doctor Dan lewis.

However, Lewis has no powers, nor an alien parasite that turns Venom’s host world upside down. In fact, the doctor is just Anne Weying’s new boyfriend (and possible future husband). Although this would seem to have no major repercussion – at least not the same as two great villains hovering around him – the presence of Lewis disturbs Brock and makes his symbiote turn against him by calling him a coward.
