The head of the Criminal Court 3 of Castellón has condemned the former owner of Marina d’Or, to two years in prison as the perpetrator of a crime of reckless homicide for the death by drowning, in 2015, of the 16-year-old girl LRF in a swimming pool of the hotel complex, in Orpesaas published by the newspaper ‘El País’ this Wednesday.
The sentence also requires the payment of compensation of 180,000 euros for the parents and siblings of the minor.
Apparently the young he got his arm stuck in the pool while diving and could not get out of it. The sentence affects that this hole was without any type of security measure.
The young woman’s brothers tried to help her and asked the pool lifeguards for help. The victim remained trapped underwater until a fifth person disconnected the suction pump connected to the hole and he was able to be brought to the surface.
A lifeguard notified the emergency services and the SAMU ambulance dispatched to the scene tried to perform cardiorespiratory resuscitation on him, unsuccessfully.
The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard opened an investigation to clarify the reasons why the victim got stuck inside the pool and now the Justice has sentenced the former owner and five employees.
