The capricious calendar leaves us with a start to the week just putting the colophon to the month of October, which is why our weekly menu starts with last-minute Halloween recipes for those who leave party plans almost on the spur of the moment. This time we give more prominence to our favorite All Saints recipes, recovering more of those traditional flavors that we also hope will bring more autumn airs to the table.
Those of us who love this season feel a bit cheated by the high temperatures for the time we have had, but we hope that things will finally change and we can hug the spoon, the steaming cups and the oven sessions. At least the markets are already receiving the seasonal products that, little by little, we are incorporating into our transition menus towards winter.
These are days of roasting chestnuts again, of looking at the sky hoping that the long-awaited rains fill us with mushrooms, cook vegetables without haste and also have a little fun with the festivities of Witches, the Dead and the Dead.
