Today, September 9, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Crash Bandicoot. That’s right, it was in 1996 that this marsupial first toured on the original PlayStation. In this way, Activision, owners of the property, and Toys For Bob, who developed the most recent installment of the series, have shared a video to celebrate this character.
Although the first four Crash Bandicoot titles are fondly remembered, following the release of Crash Team Racing In 1999, the series entered a rather strange period, where it seemed that the magic of the original games had disappeared. Fortunately, in 2017 we saw the N. Sane Trilogy, a collection with three remakes, and last year came Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, which showed that the marsupial can still live in today’s industry.
The question is: what does the character hold? At the moment the only celebration Crash has received has been the Toys For Bob video. However, with a PlayStation Showcase a few hours away, fans speculate that this is the perfect space to announce a new installment, especially taking into account recent rumors, something that could well be a reality.
However, considering Activision’s current situation, and the fact that Toys For Bob is working on projects related to Blizzard and Call of Duty: Warzone, sounds complicated to watch a new Crash Bandicoot adventure, although not impossible.
