What happened at the Toyota plants?
The ruling prevented it from processing parts orders, which led it to first suspend activities at 12 of its plants on Tuesday morning, affecting 25 production lines.
Later, the firm decided to halt operations at the two factories that were still active, thus halting operations at all of its complexes in the country. The strike then affected 28 lines.

Last year, Toyota already had to suspend activity at all its plants in Japan due to a cyber attack.
The company is one of the largest in Japan, and its production activities have a major impact on the country’s economy. In Mexico, the Japanese brand sells three models imported from Japan: GR Yaris, Prius and Hiace.
The largest vehicle manufacturers
After being hit last year by supply chain disruptions and semiconductor shortages, Toyota’s global output has picked up significantly since the start of this year.
Its global production exceeded 5.6 million vehicles in the first six months of 2023, an increase of 10.3% from the same period a year earlier and a semi-annual record for the group, according to figures published at the end of July.
In 2022, for the third year in a row, Toyota once again led the world in sales and this fiscal year it expects to post 2.58 billion yen ($17.6 billion) in net profit.
