The Simpsons: Hit & Run is one of the most loved cartoon-based games around. However, it seems that this title is destined to spend its entire existence stuck on the GameCube, PS2, and original Xbox. Fortunately, fans are doing their best to breathe new life into this installment through unofficial remasters. This is the case of a developer, who in a week managed to give this experience a second wind thanks to the Unreal Engine 5.
Recently, the user known as Reubs, published a video on his YouTube channel, where we can see how a remake of The Simpsons: Hit & Run made in Unreal Engine 5. This work not only offers a visual improvement, but some of the famous jokes are still present, and everything was carried out in just one week, although this required an additional one.
While most of the work was done using the tools provided by Unreal Engine 5, Reubs needed the help of a Swedish developer to create Homer’s model, and external software was required to improve the textures of this game. Similarly, this work is available for all patreons of this developer. At the moment it is unknown if there are plans to continue with other areas of the game.
Fans are not the only ones who want to see a remake or port of this game, as one of the producers of The simpsons has talked about the possibilities of seeing Hit & Run on some modern platform.
