With the price of olive oil skyrocketing in our country, associations such as the OCU are warning of increases with products that easily exceed ten euros per liter. It’s more relevant than ever compare offers between the different businesses, since, as FACUA has already pointed out, the differences between some supermarkets and others can be more than notable for the family economy.
It is also worth looking at the label with a magnifying glass and always checking the cost per liternot just the bottle or carafe itself, since we can save much more by acquiring a larger volume, always without hoarding.
And the Spanish supermarket that currently has the cheapest extra virgin olive oil is the Alcampo chain, where we find a two-liter bottle for nine euros, that is, 4.5 euros per liter.
Cheap extra virgin olive oil
It is specifically about Monegros extra virgin olive oil, produced by Aceites Palacio de Aceites del Alto Aragón based in Alberuela de Tubo (Huesca). The company is of family origin and its history dates back to the first oil mill in 1838 located in said Aragonese town with olives grown in the area.

Since then the company has been growing and modernizing its facilities, always maintaining the production of traditional oil with cold extraction of olive juice in three phases and mechanical procedures.
Although it seems out of stock in the company’s online store, in Alcampo you can still find the two liter bottle at nine eurosa much cheaper price than most extra virgin olive oils available today in any other establishment.
