Razer not only wants to be the reference in gaming peripherals, but also to be an important player in the future of video games, especially when that future is increasingly focused on the cloud. And he wants to do it with the Razer Edge 5G.
In this sense, the company has announced that it is working on a 5G portable console designed to play in the cloud, although it has not shared many details about its technical specifications.
We know a few things: that they will have a design very much in line with the brand identity, that the console will be 5G, that it will use the Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 and that it has Verizon and Qualcomm as preferred partners. It will be compatible with 5G Ultra Wideband and, in principle, it will be released on October 15 at the RazerCon.
Razer Edge 5G: Qualcomm chip and focused on cloud gaming
It will run, of course, Android and offer access not only to games focused on the operating system, but also those games in the cloud that are available on Android, such as Game Pass from Microsoft.
Judging by the teaser we can also make one day of the possibilities of the console, although they are only speculations. It seems that the Razer Edge 5G may have some kind of adaptive trigger systemsomething that is already standard on home consoles.
In addition, it seems that its design, although it has not been fully seen, is quite similar to the Razer Kishi V2, but logically with an integrated screen. Taking into account also the capabilities of the Qualcomm chip, we could also be facing a portable console with support for 10-bit HDR and up to 144 Hz. Of course, that the chip is capable of offering this does not mean that Razer Edge 5G offers these specifications.
