A few months ago, Twitter announced that it was developing a feature that would allow posts to be shared only with selected users. A feature very similar to Instagram’s “Best Friends” which seems to be progressing at a good pace. At least that’s what they suggest. XDA Developers, who has had access to the internal code of the APK, and the developer Alessandro Paluzzi. The feature, previously known as “trusted friends,” will be called Twitter Flock and will offer somewhat different features than Instagram.
Twitter Flock, in particular, will allow “limit the visibility of tweets to a small group of people”, as indicated in the app’s source code, which shows this function as disabled. The owners of Twitter Flock they will have the ability to add or remove members from this list at any time. Users who are inside the list, on the other hand, will have access to the owner’s private tweets. They will also be able to reply to those posts.
Developer Alessandro Paluzzi has been able to activate Twitter Flock in the beta version he has examined XDA, discovering some additional option to those shared by the news portal and forum. Paluzzi points out that users You can add a maximum of 150 people to the list of Twitter Flock, a limit that Instagram does not include. On the other hand, if the owner decides to remove a member from the list, the member will not be notified.
When will Twitter Flock be available?
Instagram, in fact, does not notify a user when he ceases to be part of the “Close Friends” of a person. However, in the case of the social network run by Parag Agrawal, and considering that probably publications will not be ephemeral, it seems that checking if someone has removed us from the Twitter Flock will not be a complicated task.
For the moment, Twitter has not given official information about its launch. However, the fact that this information appears in the latest version of the Twitter app could indicate that the company has plans to activate it imminently. It is expected to be available both on Twitter for Android and iOS, as well as on the web version.
