The Mexican peso was trading at 19.9180 per dollar, depreciating 0.17% against the Reuters reference price on Wednesday. Earlier, it advanced to 19.8558 units, its best level since August 16.
At the opening this morning, according to data from Bloomberg, the dollar was trading at 19.9075 pesos per unit, compared to the closing of 19.9122 pesos per dollar registered by the Bank of Mexico on Wednesday.
“Caution is perceived before the start of the Jackson Hole symposium,” Monex Grupo Financiero said in an analysis note.
At the local level, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) reported that the economy grew between April and June slightly below what had been estimated, but it had its third consecutive quarter in expansion.
For the rest of the day, the currency is expected to oscillate in a range of 19.83 to 19.97 per dollar, according to the firm Banco Base.
