According to data from Meta, the metaverse is expected to have a contribution of 5% to the Gross Domestic Product of Latin America by 2031. In concrete figures, this would represent 320,000 million dollars for the region, while globally the impact would be 8.2 % to GDP.
For its part, the consulting firm, Deloitte, highlights that the global VR market will grow by 50% during 2023, compared to the previous year, generating nearly $7 billion in revenue.
However, Acosta also points out that for a correct implementation of the systems, it is necessary to address the social, ethical and legal challenges in the operation of the technology, since being part of the future, “there must be a strategy around it, from the ages to the “Which content is suitable, even the themes, for different types of consumers.”
He even highlights that experts in different disciplines, such as pedagogy, or medicine, are involved in the development of metaverses, as he admits that a current problem is that the creators are not experts in such deep topics, which generates gaps in information in a tool that even has the potential to generate well-being.

Acosto’s perspective on the future of technology is hopeful, as he believes that the metaverse will have more presence in lives, due to the close relationship of new generations. However, a social responsibility approach is needed in product development to help with inclusion issues.
For her, accessibility is also an opportunity for companies to generate proposals with greater impact and it is in that area where there is considerable scope for action from now on.
Likewise, he warns that brands must not only see the advances, but also experience them to really know their scope. “Not only in a purely economic or business matter, but also in social impact and I think that is where its importance lies,” he concludes.
