When choosing a destination for a getaway or a longer vacation, each one of us can have different criteria, although there are always claims that attract more attention among any traveler. In Spain we have corners, towns and cities with a lot to offer, although sometimes we do not consider something as important as the cleaning and urban care its streets and public spaces.
It is a key issue for the inhabitants, but also for the visitor. A city can already have a fabulous offer of museums, monuments and restaurants, but if the streets are dirty, the garbage accumulates in the containers and the urban furniture is not in good condition, the image that the visitor will take will be more than negative .
With this in mind, the Organization of Consumers and Users has produced a report on urban cleaning in Spain through a satisfaction survey with the street cleaning in 69 cities. The results are not exactly to write home about in comparison to the previous one, from 2019, although there is one city that stands out above the rest, Oviedo.
Thus, the Asturian capital can add another attraction in its favor to attract visitors, although tourism is not lacking, especially in summer, when many seek cooler temperatures fleeing the heat. Despite not having a beach, Oviedo is a destination to which always worth coming backwith a fascinating historical-artistic heritage, museums and art galleries, parks and very comfortable streets to stroll without haste, with its collection of urban sculptures and one of the best gastronomy in the country, for all budgets.
They closely follow him in the OCU report Bilbao and Vigoalso cities in the north of the peninsula, which leads the organization to suggest that the weather and rain may be key factors that help maintain a clean city, although Albacete, without being very rainy, has climbed positions compared to the previous study.
To the tail stand out Palma, Alicante and Seville, and the falls of Barcelona, Seville and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria stand out, which lose 11, 10 and 7 points compared to 2019, respectively. The average satisfaction score is one point lower than that year, with an average score of 52 compared to 53 in 2019. The situation, therefore, not only has not improved, but it has has gotten worse slightly, nationally.
Among the cities that, however, have improvedGuadalajara, Jaén, Lugo, Ávila and Alcalá de Henares stand out.
