That Teruel exists is something we know very well, but sometimes we are not aware that in this Aragonese province we find wonders for our trips that can also boast of being at the same distance from Barcelona and Madrid.
This is the case of Mora de Rubielos, in the mountain region of Gúdar-Javalambreand which we should not confuse with a nearby town such as Rubielos de Mora, perhaps better known and also very beautiful.
With a Gothic castle that dominates its historic centerthis Teruel municipality of just 1,500 inhabitants is fortunate to be located at a very similar distance from Barcelona and Madrid, which makes it perfect for weekend getaways.
Not only wonderful for its heritage, where it also include the former collegiate church of Santa María or the Palacio de los Fernández de Heredia, the great value of Mora de Rubielos is in this castle built at the end of the 14th century and which is one of the best preserved in Aragon.
With cobbled and walkable streets, such as Las Parras, Mora de Rubielos also boasts a old town surrounded by a hundred-year-old wall that will give us the feeling of traveling back in time in one of the most beautiful regions in all of Aragon.
The Garcia Herranz House, the town hall or church squarein addition to the arches and portals that follow one another between the wall and its towers, are another of the powerful charms that attract us to a town that, in addition, has an increasingly growing active tourism.

Close to the Javalambre ski resortMora de Rubielos is also ideal for setting out hiking routes, especially from spring on, when the green is rampant, and in autumn, another of the best times of the year to discover it.
