The budget for the construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure, excluding the Mayan Train, will double in 2022, by adding the project that will connect the Felipe Ángeles International Airport.
According to the initiative sent to Congress, for the following year resources of 14,582.2 million pesos would be allocated, more than the 7,000 million pesos allocated for 2021.
According to the document, this will allow, among other projects, to continue with the construction of the Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train and the Expansion of Line 1 of the Lechería-Jaltocan-Felipe Ángeles International Airport.

And it is that last March the extension of the Suburban Train was announced with the construction of 23 kilometers of railroad track, with the increase in a first stage of three stations, from Lechería to the Santa Lucía air terminal.
At the time, the SCT announced that once the expansion to the new airport is built, there will be daily mobility in low peaks of 70,000 passengers and in high peaks of up to 90,000 people.
The agency indicated that the project design is estimated to take 6 more months and execution will last around 20 months. The works should be completed in June 2022, according to the official estimate.
