The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has published a new food alert of general interest regarding the possible presence of foreign bodies in a vanilla ice cream of the brand Bon Gelatithe line of white label ice cream from the Lidl supermarket chain.
The information has been transferred by the German health authorities, through the European Food Alert Network (RASFF), after a notification published by the company itself responsible for the manufacturing of these ice creams. Likewise, Lidl, as the product distribution company, has also published an informative note warning all customers on its website.
The incident derives from the results of one of the self-control processes of the ice cream manufacturer and supplier itself, Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG. Since we cannot rule out the possible presence of foreign bodies, metallic and plasticrequests the return of the affected batch of Bon Gelati Bourbon Vanilla Flavor.
The company has issued this alert to not being able to guarantee safety of the product, complying with European legislation that prevents unsafe food from being made available to the public. Thus, due to the possible risk of injury, the company asks customers to check if they have the affected expiration dates, and if so, “do not consume the product under any circumstances.”
As a precautionary measure, Lidl Spain has already removed the article of its shelves and will refund the purchase amount to customers who have purchased any affected ice cream, in any store and without the need to present the purchase receipt.

- Batch numbers and expiration dates: L3 275 A01 with expiration date: 09/21/2025 and L3 276 A0, with expiration date 09/22/2025.
- Weight or volume of each unit/vol: 2500 ml.
- Temperature: frozen.
Lidl assures that no other Bon Gelati brand product distributed by the chain in Spain is affected by this alert.
