They assure that Walmart and Sam’s Club raised prices before the Hot Sale

Social networks have become the best tool for consumers of all brands today. As an example, that of a consumer who used his Twitter account to expose the Walmart and Sam’s Club brands for raising prices before the “promotions” of the Hot Sale.

A report by We Are Social and Hootsuite revealed that there are currently 4.62 billion network users worldwide, which represents a year-on-year growth of more than 10 percent.

Likewise, the same study details that the number of users of social networks is now equivalent to more than 58 percent of the total population of the world.

Given these data, it is normal to find consumer complaints on these platforms and more so when promotional events such as the Hot Sale are held.

Consumer sues Walmart and Sam’s Club for this reason

A consumer identified on the social network Twitter as @ yak3001 denounced Walmart and Sam’s Club before the digital pulse for increasing the prices of its products before the Hot Sale promotions.

The Internet user narrated that he was looking at brochures of the “promotions” of various stores for the Hot Sale and It was noticed that many raised the prices of technological products that in the past had another price and currently it is another increased cost.

Given this, other consumers denounced that many brands do it and then arrive with “promotions”, for which they denounce before the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco).

To date, the consumer’s complaint has not been answered by either of the two brands, despite the fact that the Internet user mentioned the firms in his tweet.

Let us remember that the Hot Sale is the largest online sales campaign in Mexico that brings together the best sales companies and online services and will take place from May 23 to 31, expects to exceed 18 thousand 557 million pesos in sales for 2021according to the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO).

It is not the first time that complaints have been filed against brands for false promotions by their consumers, as is the case of an Internet user who denounced the Sears department store after receiving an email with an offer for a tablet with alleged misleading advertising.

This only reflects the opinion of the consumer and the conversation that it generates in the digital pulse, for which Merca 2.0 requested the position of the brand in order to tell both sides of the story; however, so far it has not been received. The note will be updated in case of a response.
