Today we have bad news for thousands of devices around the world, although not for so many users. Google has announced a withdrawal of support for old Samsung mobiles. This termination of support will leave devices that meet the requirements without the ability to run the google services normally. As a user you should already know that an Android mobile without Google services can be used, although it can be quite tedious in some situations.
Goodbye to Google services for Samsung with Gingerbread
You may not remember them, but there are still thousands of devices on the market that run very old operating systems. These can be in a drawer, recycled or in working order. Several Samsung devices from years ago have just entered the final stretch of their support.
All the Samsung phones or tablets let them run Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 they will be left without the possibility of having Google services. This means that they will not be able to enter Google Play, use Gmail or navigate with Google Maps in a stable way. They can be accessed from the browser, a rather mediocre solution.
The end of support is scheduled for the day September 27, 2021, or what is the same, in a couple of months. There is nothing you can do except install a more acting operating system or install a custom ROM.
Some of the terminals that still run this operating system are the Galaxy S, Galaxy S3 or the legendary Samsung Galaxy S5. All of them will lose access within a few weeks, although it is not too worrying.
Are mobiles from many years ago that very few users continue to use today. Google does not need to justify the end of support, as we are talking about extremely old terminals with residual use by users.
If you have a Samsung mobile with Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 you will have to buy a more current one or try to update it unofficially to continue using it normally.
