Currently, the social network is in conflict with the United States as the Biden administration and some lawmakers fear that the application will use its technology to spy on the devices of American users or deliver information to the Chinese government.
However, the US is not the only one with which it has problems as several nations are implementing measures against TikTok. Below we tell you what they are.
Which countries have banned TikTok?
Afghanistan
The Taliban regime banned TikTok arguing that young people could be fooled.
Belgium
Starting March 10, Belgian federal government employees will no longer be able to use the video app on their work phones.
Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said the Belgian national security council had warned about the risks associated with the large amounts of data collected and the fact that the company must cooperate with Chinese intelligence services.
Canada
On February 27, Canada announced a ban on the app on government-issued devices, saying it presents an “unacceptable” level of risk to privacy and security.
Denmark
In early March, Denmark’s Defense Ministry, a NATO member, on Monday banned its employees from having the TikTok video-sharing app on their work phones as a cybersecurity measure.
It is the latest government-related ban on data security and privacy for the app.
In a statement, the ministry said the Scandinavian country’s Cyber Security Center had assessed there was a risk of espionage and said it “requests certain rights and access on the device.”
