The family Slim decided to venture into the automotive sector in 2016, through the Mexican firm in which they have a stake, Giant Motors Latin America. This company, in which the Massri family also participates, reached an agreement with Jac Motors to assemble and market some of its models in Mexico.
As of 2017, they began to market two models, the Sei 2 and Sei 3. As of today, their portfolio is made up of 12 models made up of five commercial vehicles, four SUVs, two pickups and a sedan. Some of them have electric variants.
At the end of 2021, within the framework of the fifteenth anniversary of the opening of the Giant Motors Latin America assembly plant located in Ciudad Sahagun, Hidalgo, the firms announced the start of a production line for electric vehicles. To this day, Jac offers electric versions of the E10X, J7, Sei4, Sunray and X350, reinforcing its interest in earning a place within the segment of zero emission vehicles.

In 2016, Grupo Picacho reached an agreement with said manufacturer to import and sell two models in Mexico: the D20 subcompact and the X25 SUV.
Although the automaker’s page shows the offer of only two vehicles, X35 and BJ40 PLUS, the Inegi figures show that in addition to these models, keep trading the vehicles with which he decided to venture into the local market.
This brand is grouped under the umbrella of Motornation, under which JMC and Changan are also sold.
JMC
Jiangling Motors Corporation, better known as JMC, was the second brand born in China with which Grupo Picacho decided to create ties. The conversations to achieve this began in 2015, concluding in 2019 with the commercialization of its first vehicle in the local market.
The decisions were about the Virgus, a medium-sized pickup, being the vehicle with which the brand took its first steps in sales in Mexico. To this day, this is still the only product in its portfolio.
JMC has six vehicle assembly plants distributed throughout the Chinese territory, manufacturing qualities that have led it to create strong ties with other firms in the sector, such as Ford, who is one of its largest manufacturing partners. In fact, the Virgus engine, 1.8 liters and 177 HP, was designed and manufactured by the American automaker.
changan
Grupo Picacho announced in 2021 the incorporation of his third and last brand native to the Asian giant: Changan.

According to its website, it currently sells, in addition to Alsvin, the CS35 Plus Turbo SUV and the CS55 Plus. It is currently the brand that generates the highest sales volume for Motornation.
