This Monday, an explosion was recorded inside an apartment building located on Coyoacán Avenue between Amores and Universidad Avenue, Acacias neighborhood in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, Mexico City.
In accordance with Miryam Urzúa, head of Civil Protection, it is presumed that the detonation was after an accumulation of natural gas. He also reported to 14 people were injured, two of whom required transfer to the Rubén Leñero medical unit.
So far, all the tenants have been evacuated from the property and no trapped people or human losses have been reported.
Through their social networks, the mayor’s office confirmed the presence of elements of Civil Protection and the Shield BJ Proximity Team to attend to the accident, as well as the mayor, Santiago Taboada. They ask to avoid the area.
