Reuters.- The United States will lift restrictions on its land borders with Canada and Mexico for fully vaccinated foreign nationals in early November, two US officials said Tuesday.
The measure, which will be formally announced on Wednesday by the Secretary of National Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, and which will also include ferry crossings, will end the restrictions that have prevented non-essential travel since March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. .
Once the restrictions are lifted, non-essential foreign visitors crossing land borders, such as tourists, will be able to visit the United States if they are vaccinated.

Unvaccinated visitors will still be prohibited from entering the United States from Canada or Mexico at land borders.
The precise date for the restrictions to be lifted will be announced “very soon,” one of the officials said.
In early January, Washington will require essential visitors, such as truck drivers, to be vaccinated to cross land borders, they added.
Representatives of the administration of US President Joe Biden emphasized that the “Title 42” policy, introduced by former President Donald Trump and which prevents asylum seekers from entering the United States, will remain in effect.
The White House announced on September 20 that the United States would lift travel restrictions in early November for air travelers from 33 countries, including China, India, Brazil and most of Europe, who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
