DJI, a leading company in the field of drones, has presented a new business solution capable of being managed remotely thanks to an autonomous docking and charging station that opens the door to a wide number of uses. The brand cites some examples: security agencies, infrastructure inspectors, etc.
The first leg of this solution is the drone DJI Matrice 30which works hand in hand with fleet management software DJI Flight Hub 2 and the DJI Dock. This drone has a fairly small footprint, multiple high-performance sensors, an all-new remote controller, and the Pilot 2 interface. It’s also tougher and more powerful.
The DJI M30 will be sold in two versions. The most basic has a 48-megapixel camera that allows optical zoom between 5X and 16X, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, is capable of recording 4K video at 30 FPS and has a laser rangefinder that can give the coordinates of objects up to 1200 meters away. The M30T series shares these features but also has a 640 x 512 pixel radiometric thermal camera.
The two drones are resistant to water, high intensity winds and even support 4G connection for those environments that require it. The batteries allow a flight for 41 minutes, but the most interesting thing is that the BS30 smart chargers allow to go from 20% to 90% in 30 minutes.
To preserve security – important in business environments – DJI has also implemented the ability to update machines offline, in addition to allowing them to operate completely offline. That is to say: the data captured by the drone does not have to pass through external servers at any time. The icing on the cake is also the encryption of the SD card, which adds an extra layer of security to the information captured by the drone.
Another leg of this proposal is the FlightHub 2 platform, which allows manage fleets in ways quite useful for the business environment. This is based on the cloud, it allows you to manage the flight mission, visualize the operation even remotely, create maps rich in information, etc.
The third leg of the proposal is DJI Dock, an autonomous landing and charging base that allows drones to be operated remotely without any fear. It weighs 90 kg and occupies less than 1 square km. All it requires is an electrical outlet and internet connection. This, in addition, has integrated antennas, weather station and surveillance cameras. The idea is to locate it at points of interest without fear of anything happening to it.
Thanks to the fast charging and battery cooling system, the drone only has to be paused in the aforementioned base for 25 minutes to take off again.
DJI’s new products for companies are already available in the brand catalog, although, in the case of the dock, it will not be freely available until the last quarter of this year. The prices have not been revealed, as is usual in this type of business solutions.
