For its part, the unemployment rate was 8.7% during June, that is, an increase of 0.3 points compared to May. The unemployment rate includes people who expressed the need to work more hours per week.
The sector where the employed population was concentrated was the service sector, where 24.7 million people were employed (43% of the total). Within the trade, 11.1 million Mexicans were concentrated; in the manufacturing industry 9.5 million; in agricultural activities, 6.8 million and in construction, 4.7 million.
And the commerce sector was the one with the highest growth in its employed population, with 737,000 more people than in June 2021.
Regarding remuneration, 32.2% of employees earned up to one minimum wage and 33.8% received up to 2 minimum wages, while 34% of employed people in Mexico earn more than two minimum wages. In 2022, the minimum wage is 172.87 pesos and 260.34 pesos at the border.
Finally, in June 2022, the population employed in labor informality was 32.1 million people and the Labor Informality Rate was 55.8% of the employed population, 0.5 percentage points higher than that of the sixth month of 2021.
