The discount supermarket in the Valencian Community that is sweeping wherever it opens, Family Cash, has among its plans don’t sit idly by this 2023 and continue its expansion for this year and the beginning of next year.
The chain has several pins put on the map and, as far as its spokespersons can read, it will continue to expand throughout the Valencian Community, specifically in the Alicante town of Finestrat, as the first opening of this 2023. In fact, in the province of Alicante already has a hypermarket in Alcoi.
After this opening in the community, the supermarket chain will open another large establishment in the Andalusian town of Jerez. Apart from these two new stores, the company claims to have more supermarkets in the pipeline than, however, still does not reveal the location.
In 2022, the company opened stores in Lugo (Abella shopping center and As Termas shopping center), Alcalá de Henares (Quadernillos shopping center) and Benicarlo (Family Parc shopping center).
From distribution to sale
At the end of 2013 the name of Family Cash sounded for the first time and it did so in Xàtiva, a municipality located in the south of the province of Valencia.
The Canet Ferrero family, with extensive experience in the large distribution sector, is the one behind this prosperous business. This family defined a store model based on proximity to the customer and above all on unbeatable prices.
From this original model arose a small bazaar located on the outskirts of this town that, in a short time, had to move to a larger area with dozens of parking spaces, in the style of large modern supermarkets.
In fact, the imprint of the distribution is felt in its wide passageways and in the approach of its products, in large containers and formats, making Family Cash a kind of supermarket halfway between the supermarket and the warehouse.
40 stores in ten years
However, Family Cash has gone from being a small bazaar to counting, today, with food productsbazaar, kitchenware, textiles, stationery or electronics, among many others.
In just ten years (recently completed), the company already has more than 3,200 workers and a total of 40 establishments spread over 16 cities and provinces throughout Spain. Among consumers, its pricing policy stands out especially, with the cost of meat being especially acclaimed.
In fact, these cheap prices are what have allowed the chain to appear among the three cheapest supermarkets in Spain according to the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU).
A textile brand also in expansion
As is a classic in other supermarkets, Family Cash also has its own textile brandMo, present in more than half of its establishments with specific shelves.
Recently, the hypermarket chain has announced the opening of three new textile spaces of its brand in its stores located in Alcalá de Guadaíra and Utrera (Seville), as well as in Puertollano (Ciudad-Real).
In this way, the chain will have a total of 18 points of sale of the textile brand, after the first textile store opened in 2021.
These three stores will be added to the already existing in Albacete, Alcoi, Benicarló Castelló, Carcaixent, Chiclana, Guadalajara, Lorca, Lugo Abella, Molina del Segura, Tomelloso, Vall d’Uixó, Viana, Xàtiva and Zaragoza.
Mo is a textile brand that is distributed in some of the Family Cash stores. The brand, of European production, shares the same philosophy than Family Cash products and is therefore based on an economic pricing policy.
