In 1921 he joined with his colleague, the Dr. Charles Bestin work that resulted in the discovery of the hormone behind insulin.Thanks to this invention of great proportions, the two obtained the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 1923. When he obtained the award he was just 32 years old and became the youngest scientist to receive it.
