We are practically one day away from having an important premiere for the platform of Disney+, Ms. Marvel, which will mark the beginning of a superheroine that will be relevant in the movies. To celebrate this premiere, many press have already released their opinions about the show, since some had early access to the chapters.
Here are some of the most outstanding opinions:
Aaron Perine from ComicBook:
Wonders may be just around the corner, but Kamala will be a star before the adventure takes off next year. Ms. Marvel lays a great foundation for the character among casual audiences. Who is she? Well, the Disney+ show makes the argument that she is a hero and a pretty amazing one at that.
CNET’s Richard Trenholm:
As colorful and chaotic as a teenager’s imagination, Ms. Marvel wears her heart on her sleeve. Whether the show will find its focus amidst the many subplots, and whether it will offer more widescreen superhero action to go along with the teen angst, remains to be seen. But as the origin stories go, it brings just enough of a feel to it to make it an enjoyable show, both for new viewers and anyone who loves superheroes as much as Kamala Khan.
GameSpot’s Mason Downey:
Of course, this review is based solely on the first two episodes, provided for the Disney screening. With six in total, there’s still plenty of room for unexpected twists or surprise reveals down the line, so it’s probably best not to trust anything as a certainty until the season finale premieres in July. That said, based on these early episodes, Ms. Marvel is an extremely fun and deeply charming show with a cast of great new characters and something that other Disney+ projects and the MCU have lacked.
Variety’s Caroline Framke:
Inevitably, Ms. Marvel will take the now familiar twist of almost every other Disney+ adventure and set up Kamala’s story to fit in with the rest of the MCU. In fact, Vellani will star in Nia DaCosta’s “The Marvels” alongside Larson and Teyonah Parris. But the looming specter of Marvel obligations to come almost makes this series, with her determination to make Kamala a person and her neighborhood a home, an even more precious commodity. Before Kamala formally turns and dives into something bigger than herself, that’s more than enough.
IGN’s Emma Fraser:
The MCU’s television lineup continues to grow, and Ms. Marvel is already championing Kamala Khan as an exciting new addition. This coming-of-age story includes some familiar elements of a teenage girl struggling to find her way forward. Still, the teen’s Muslim faith and her parents’ expectations of her offer a new perspective. Directors Adil and Bilall immediately draw us in with solid visual flourishes, and Iman Vellani is a stunning leading lady. AvengerCon isn’t quite on the scale we’d expect, but the series is off to a bold start.
With these comments in between, it can be expected that Ms Marvel will have an excellent debut among the ranks of Disney+. It even achieved an excellent score of Rotten Tomatoes, reaching 93% by critics. We will have to wait for the fan rating.
The series premieres next 8 of June on the platform of Disney.
