In April of last year, Musk launched in austin, texasthe most recent factory in its portfolio, known as Giga Texas, which has a production of close to 500,000 vehicles per year.
The complex, where the Model Y is produced, is paramount in the entrepreneur’s planssince it plans to turn it into one of the highest-volume car factories in the United States.
If installed in Nuevo León, the plant would have a strategic position for Tesla, since it would be complemented by the other three that it has in the neighboring country to the north, distributed in Nevada, California and New York.
At the same time, the plant would become the third to leave the country of origin of the company. The first was inaugurated in January 2019 in Shanghai, China, while the second began operations in Berlin, Germany, in May of last year.
