Android Authority has just released one of the most interesting lists of the moment on Android mobiles. This international media has evaluated dozens of devices so far in 2020 and has confirmed a list of the best in the autonomy section. In this list, you will see several of the most important devices of the year, although not all. Only the 13 best results appear, ordered from best to worst. You should not base your purchase on this list, but it will allow you to get an idea of the battery section of your next smartphone.
These are the phones with the longest battery life
In the list we find 13 devices known to all and with some popularity in the market. All of them have passed the Android Authority test, which is based on using an application that simulates normal use of the device: taking photos, games, social networks, etc. All terminals have passed the test under the same conditions, so the comparison is real. Of course, it may differ slightly from the actual use you make of the terminal.
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro – 4,500 mAh
- Huawei P40 Pro – 4,200 mAh
- LG V60 ThinQ 5G – 5,000 mAh
- POCO F2 Pro – 4,700 mAh
- Huawei P40 – 3,800 mAh
- LG Velvet – 4,300 mAh
- Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra – 5,000 mAh
- realme X3 Superzoom – 4,200 mAh
- realme X50 Pro 5G – 4,200 mAh
- Motorola Edge Plus – 5,000 mAh
- Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus – 4,500 mAh
- OnePlus 8 – 4,300 mAh
- OnePlus 8 Pro – 4,510 mAh
It is easy to see that the mobiles with the highest amount of mAh are not the ones that occupy the first positions. There are 3 devices with 5,000 mAh batteries on the list, but these are not in the top positions. We even see two of them below the Huawei P40, a terminal with a 3,800 mAh battery.
MAh are not everything to have a good autonomy
This ranking shows that you should be careful when buying an Android device based on the mAh of its battery. Having more is not always better, because not only the capacity of the cell comes into play, but also the size of the screen, the refresh rate of the panel or the optimization of the manufacturer itself.
This list of Android Authority shows that companies like Xiaomi or Huawei have great software optimization and achieve very good figures on their devices. Of course, it is also important to indicate that they are devices without screens with a high refresh rate. This last detail consumes a large amount of energy and also greatly affects the autonomy of the device.
You should not buy the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro for being first on the list, but now you know that you should not buy the Galaxy S20 Ultra thinking that its 5,000 mAh will be better than the 4,500 of other devices.
What do you think about mAh? Do you think this list reflects the reality of the current market?
