This Friday the exchange rate closed the day at 17.6479 pesos per dollar, recovering 0.94% compared to the previous close (17.8152 pesos per unit), according to data from the central bank.
Following the monetary policy decision of Banco de México, the Mexican currency depreciated 1.5%.
Furthermore, the message from Jerome Powell, president of the United States Federal Reserve, in the sense that he does not rule out a further increase in its reference interest rate, caused the peso to continue losing ground against the dollar.
With this Friday’s closing, the peso ends with a weekly depreciation of 1.1% against the US currency.
