Rumors about a launch in 2024 of a new generation of Nintendo Switch do not stop. While they have never agreed on what we will see in the next generation of the big N, many point to a power similar to PS4 and an increase in size. That is precisely what a new rumor which has been echoed Bloomberg.
Everything seems to indicate that the next generation of Nintendo Switch, expected sometime at the end of the year, would increase its screen to 8 inches, from the current 6.2 inches. That would mean, however, a return to LCDafter Nintendo put a little more than two years ago a quite acclaimed OLED version among the public.
Little else is known, but everything indicates that it would maintain the current controls and continue betting on a mixed model between portable and fixed console using a dock. Bigger, and heavier, but much more powerful, which would allow developers to offer higher graphic quality than current models. And also, embrace new franchises like Call of Dutynow that there is an agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo.
Nintendo Switch prices would rise in price with the new console
Regarding the price, it seems that the console I would embrace the 400 euro barrier, in line with other consoles, but more expensive than the current version, around 330 euros. However, the games would experience a price increase, and would be around 80 euros in a strategy similar to the first party from PlayStation, which has increased in price since the PS5.
None of these are confirmed, of course. But with its launch in 2017 and its OLED version in 2021, the Nintendo console is already beginning to ask for a renewal. Not because Nintendo seeks to bet on graphic quality at the level of Sony or Microsoft, but to give more tools to developers and, above all, to adapt your hardware to new technologies that have come to video games in these almost 7 years.
All in all, the Nintendo Switch has been a huge success for the ‘big N’ and has been the spearhead of the return to portable consoles, with the Steam Deck and endless versions of it from different manufacturers. Now, with cloud gaming on everyone’s lips, Nintendo has a unique opportunity and the trust of its playerswho have seen in the mixed model of the Switch an unprecedented range of opportunities to play.
