A couple of days ago the 14.1.1 update arrived at Switch. As one might guess from the rating of this firmware version, there is not much that stands out as the focus is on offering better stability for the system. However, data miners have taken it upon themselves to find a series of changes that the Japanese company has not officially revealed.
According to OatmealDome, a renowned Switch dataminer, the new console update hides details that block new words. The first of these is “sendnudes”, which is no longer usable on console in all available regions.. Along with this, some phrases related to death in Japanese have also been banned.
[Nintendo Switch Firmware Update]
Version 14.1.1 updated the bad words list to add the following:
– “sendnudes” for all languages
– various phrases involving death in katakana (starting with シンデ〜) for Japanese— OatmealDome (@OatmealDome) April 19, 2022
And if that was not enough, there is also talk of modifications in the internal browser. Although at the moment there are no details on this point, this could well be related to the security system of the Switch. At the moment it is unknown why Nintendo decided to hide this information.
On related issues, Nintendo of America has been accused of violating US union laws. Likewise, this is how you can play Dragon Quest Builders 2 completely free on Switch.
Editor’s Note:
This is not the first time Nintendo has withheld information from players. While we’ve seen data related to potential console improvements in the past, what’s mentioned in the new update isn’t that big of a deal, and considering blocked words are sensitive, I can understand why the Big N didn’t decide to speak to the regard.
