As part of the merger, CPKC expects a better integration in the systems part, time reductions due to the fact that the cargo can be operated with a single train and there will not have to be a change, in addition to a potential increase in salaries and changes in other items with the workers, with whom the company is still in negotiations.
Del Cueto also indicated that he expects an increase in volume for this year after growing 17% in this indicator in 2022, and expects to be more attractive in trends such as nearshoring. In addition, it is already targeting some of the most important manufacturing projects in the country, such as the new Tesla in Nuevo Leon.
“We are negotiating with them. We want to serve you, give you connectivity, move both auto parts and finished vehicles. We are in talks with them,” said the manager.
The company also considers that they will be connected to other railway projects that are under development, such as the mayan trainwhich will have a dual cargo and passenger operation.
