Autumn is very important for Apple. The renewal of many of its products is scheduled for the next few months, starting with the new iPhone 13 that would arrive in mid-September. However, it would not be the only event, and These months would also be the ones chosen to renew the iPad.
Although it seems that after the announcement of the iPhone 13 we would also see a development of the Macs with Apple’s chip, the 9th generation iPad would make an appearance before the Christmas campaign arrived.
The renovation would be exclusively focused on the entry iPad, focused on the student market or those looking for a tablet but do not want to enter the field of the iPad Pro. This new iPad would come with a slimmer design and an improved processor, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.
Although we would already be talking about the ninth generation of the iPad, the changes would not be excessively profound. Same shape, lower weight, more powerful. No Face ID or borderless design as has already happened with the Air.
iPad: same design, more power
Apple would keep the current iPad design but would update part of its internal components, especially in the processor and graphics section, in a slimmer body.
The one that would receive the greatest change would be the iPad mini, which would have a larger screen in the same size, thanks to the reduction of its edges. However, it seems that the new mini would not arrive with this 9-generation iPad, and its presentation and launch would be scheduled for later.
The last time Apple revamped the entry model proposed a similar strategy. The design was maintained but the edges are covered somewhat, the screen was improved and the A12 processor was included. This was an unprecedented performance leap for Apple’s cheapest model.
It is expected that Apple will continue its trend, which would allow a greater differentiation between the different models: classic design with Home button for the entry iPad; borderless design with Touch ID on the side button for Air and Face ID, better screen and M1 for iPad Pro.
