A couple of weeks ago we told you that The Last of Us Part IIone of the best video games of the last decade, will have a documentary about its development. Now, however, we finally know its release date: February 2, 2024. The best thing is that it will be completely free, as it will be available through the official channel by Naughty Dog on YouTube.
The story behind Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II It’s quite curious. It was launched when development of the game began, but was subsequently left in limbo due to the pandemic. Because Naughty Dog employees had to move work to their homes, it no longer made sense to continue production.
However, the California studio managed to revive the project. They recovered the material already recorded, and combined it with interviews that were carried out after the health crisis. The result? Content that no fan of the franchise can miss.
The documentary of The Last of Us Part II It’s pretty special. Not only because it will show us what the day-to-day life of developing such a complex game is like, but also because of the unexpected obstacles that Naughty Dog, like many other video game studios, had to overcome during the pandemic.
“Learn, directly from the team at Naughty Dog, what it took to bring the acclaimed sequel The Last of Us Part II to life, with a new behind-the-scenes look at its development.”
NaughtyDog.
The premiere of Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part IIof course, is part of PlayStation’s efforts to promote the launch of The Last of Us Part II Remasteredwhich was released just the previous week.
The remastering of the acclaimed game was met with quite positive reception. Not only by the specialized press, but also by the general public. Its greatest novelties, however, are not in the audiovisual section—it was difficult to improve a graphic reference. Rather, Naughty Dog focused on improving and enriching the playable experience.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered includes, for example, the new Survival mode, which basically proposes surviving waves of enemies. It also offers the “Lost levels”which are unreleased missions that, for some reason, were not present in the original version of the game.
Of course, it is exclusive to the PlayStation 5. It is available for 50 dollars/euros. However, if you already own a copy of the game in its PS4 version – physical or digital -, you only have to pay 10 dollars/euros to get the remastering. Seeing what it offers, it is a fairly fair price…
