This year, the iPhone 15 could come with significant improvements in the photographic section thanks to one of the features present in the current iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. According to a report by analyst Jeff Pu seen by 9to5Macthe base models that Apple would announce later this year —that is, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus— They could include a 48-megapixel main camera. This, moreover, will not be the only feature that they inherit from the current premium-range iPhone.
Specifically, the analyst, citing sources in the supply chain, believes that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus would replace the current 12-megapixel primary sensor with a “3-stack one with a 48-megapixel wide lens.” Assuming that it is the same camera that the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro currently include, we could expect significant improvements in terms of resolution, with results with a quality up to 4 times higher than the current sensor. These improvements, yes, would only be available through the ProRAW mode, as it happens in the current models.
Apple, on the other hand, would keep a dual-lens setup on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. We could therefore see the aforementioned 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The base models, however, they would not arrive with the telephoto sensor, and neither with the LiDAR scanner.
The iPhone 15 could also inherit the dynamic island of the iPhone 14 Pro
The iPhone 15 (and its Plus version) could also come with another star feature of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max: the dynamic island. This would replace the notch of the current models and would also add new functions in terms of software. Among them, the possibility of seeing a small player in the so-called Dynamic Island. Also known as Live Activities, which allow you to see information in real time from that area.
Regarding the iPhone 15 Pro, one of the main improvements is expected to be the integration of a periscope camera. This will improve the results of the photographs by offering an optical zoom of up to 6x.
