Elon Musk surprised yesterday with a tweet where he challenged Vladimir Putin to a face-to-face duel to end the invasion of Ukraine. The South African tycoon, who insisted in another publication that the proposal was “absolutely serious”, even mentioned the official account of the Russian Government. Neither Putin nor the Kembril account have responded to the threats from the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, but yes Dimitry Rogozin has done it, CEO of Roscosmos. Yes, the same person who threatened to leave astronaut Mark Vande Hei stranded on the International Space Station.
“You, imp, are still young. You are too weak to compete with me.”Rogozin commented in a tweet in response to Elon Musk’s post. “It would just be a waste of time. First you will have to leave my brother behind,” the former Russian deputy prime minister continued. He is quoting, specifically, a verse from The story of the priest and his assistant Balda written by Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has taken just under a day to respond to this post.
“I see you are a tough negotiator!” Elon Musk commented in response to Rogozin. “Okay, you can have 10% more money for the pay-per-view.” The tweet also includes a meme with the phrase “Choose your fighter” where it appears, on the one hand, Putin riding a bear; and on the other, Musk with his flamethrower. “You can even bring your bear,” the tycoon joked in another tweet.
The last update What we know about this strange conversation between the CEO of SpaceX and the head of Roscosmos, is a response from Dimitry Rogozin to the tweet that Elon Musk has accompanied with a Putin meme. “Elon, get out of the bathroom and then we’ll talk.”Rogozin commented, attaching an image of that Musk tweet where he assures that at least 50% of his tweets are written on the “porcelain throne”.
Dimitry Rogozin threatened to leave an American astronaut in space
Rogozin, who previously held the position as Russian deputy prime minister, has been the head of Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, since 2018. In recent days, the politician has gained prominence by threatening to stranding astronaut Mark Vande Hei on the International Space Station. The American, in charge of carrying out security tasks on the ISS, was scheduled to return to earth at the end of March, along with two Russian cosmonauts.
Rogozin, however, has recently confirmed that it was a joke, and that the American astronaut will board the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft and return together with his two Russian companions on March 30, as planned.
