Covid has not just given in and, although the economy continues to recover, it is not enough for the economic and social challenges we face both globally and in our country.
The recovery of the tourism sector seems spectacular, with an increase of 178% compared to 2020, although in reality it represents 32.2% of hotel occupancy compared to 26.2% last year.
We still do not have the data on labor poverty for the second quarter issued by CONEVAL, I want to assume that there will be a recovery, but, as in the tourism sector, not significantly because in the first quarter there was a 4.8% decrease in income real labor market and, as a consequence, an increase in the extreme poverty lines.

The Executive does not quite understand that wealth is not generated spontaneously and that the bureaucracy is the least able to generate it. The only way is to develop businesses which in turn create job opportunities.
Of course we need companies, entrepreneurs creating sources of decent employment and with a sensitivity to the impact of their actions inside and outside the organizations. At COPARMEX we have constantly reiterated the need to be socially responsible entrepreneurs and we constantly seek to be attentive to the implications of our actions through our actions and decisions.
There is no doubt, the basic remedy for most of the problems we have as a society is to create sources of decent employment. Our compatriots in a fantastically supportive way raffle it every day away from home in the United States and, given the needs of their families, they have consistently increased the sending of money, the so-called remittances, which in the first five months of this 2021 rose 21.75 % and that they have continued to rise.

What allows them to send money? Whoever has a job has no science. The economic recovery goes through the creation of employment, it is a basic premise, but for this to happen there must be investment projects, development of new national markets and the search for markets abroad. In addition, we need, together with the universities, to promote entrepreneurial projects, not with the sole objective of raising capital or obtaining financial returns, but with that main objective of creating jobs.
However, we need certainty and that the Federal Government does not see us or treat us as political “adversaries” or as white-collar criminals, or as people, who we are too, that all the time we are trying to get a crack at through corruption and evasion.
I invite all those politicians who receive a fixed monthly income thanks to the payment of taxes that we make to see how we raffle it to pay the salaries of our employees. The majority of us believe in and want a Mexico with a great future, opportunities, well-distributed wealth and sources of decent employment.
