The French company had already announced a few months ago the construction of the plant in the state with an investment of 68 million dollars, but in a statement issued on Tuesday raised the figure to around 100 million dollars.
The investment, the company reported, translates into the generation of nearly 500 new jobs. The plant will have the capacity to manufacture some inputs for the automotive industry, such as engine mounts, braking systems and chassis components.
“The old continent has given us its trust through companies with a high level of automation and industry 4.0 such as Le Bélier, whose project in San Miguel de Allende will be the only one nationwide that brings together all the aluminum smelting techniques through state-of-the-art systems, ”said the state governor, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, in a press release.
In the letter it was not mentioned if the investment will be added to the 68 million dollars announced at the beginning of this year or if it is only an extension of it.
The French company has a workforce of 3,200 people, with a presence on three continents and an expectation of sales of around 340 million dollars at the end of this year.
