Among them, we can find some that allow millions of users to appreciate audio content, such as music, and one that has gained increasing popularity over the last couple of years, the podcast.
Statista shows in its study on “podcasts continue to gain followers” the number of listeners of this content worldwide, who in 2017 represented more than 200 million users, while in 2021 there were 621 million who consumed this content and are expected to continue to grow steadily until they represent 974.6 million users in 2026 .
On a technical level, today it is relatively easy to upload internet audio contentwhich is why some companies bet on marking their high value proposition by creating good quality content, as long as listeners make a small monetary investment that benefits them with unlimited hours of audio.
Among them, data from Midia Research have shown the music streaming platforms that have achieved a higher position according to their number of subscribers during the second quarter of 2021, where Spotify was proclaimed the undisputed leader by dominating the preference of 162 million users, Apple Music in second with 78.59 million, Tencent Music in third with 68.11 million, Amazon Music in fourth with 68.11 million and YouTube Music in fifth, among other alternatives to explore.
Also, another factor that has considerably boosted the number of people who hire the audio streaming services of these companies, is due to some marketing strategies that encourage consumers to pay for these services, such as access to exclusive content such as premieres, being able to download audios to be able to listen to them without the need to be connected to the Internet, which different users can share the same account to divide expenses, among other types of opportunities to explore that have been essential for the success of its positioning.
