Denuvo is one of the anti-piracy systems that has given the most talk in recent years, although not for good reasons. As you probably already know, this program has been pointed out for affecting the performance of various PC games. Now, it was recently revealed that Denuvo is coming to Switchwhich has more than one fan worried.
Through its official site, Irdeto, those responsible for Denuvo, revealed that the system, now known as Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection, is already on its way to the hybrid console, and will prevent the emulation of titles from a PC. The best of all? It will not affect the performance of the gamesor at least that is assured.
This is what has been said about it:
“By preventing piracy on the Switch and blocking unauthorized emulations on PC, studios can increase their revenue during the game’s launch window, which is the most important period with regards to monetization.”
For now It is unknown if Denuvo’s technology was a request from Nintendo, or if Irdeto were responsible for the initiative.. The only thing that is clear is that developers will have the choice to include this system in their games or not. Although the promise of not harming the performance of a game is attractive, we must not forget the precedent of PC, where even some titles had to completely remove this program in order to be able to function properly.
On related topics, Switch boxes will be reduced in size. Similarly, the Switch remains the best-selling console of the year.
