Drug violence continues to surround Michoacan. This Friday, accounts related to citizen complaints have reported that members of the criminal group United cartels have decided to take up arms before the imminent advance of their rivals of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Tepalcatepec.
Only in recent days, the rise of drug violence has left several clashes and a wave of forced displacement, according to the complaints.
The versions are contrary to what was announced by the authorities, who have assured that there are no reports of the latest attacks. Pablo Mendez Cisneros, director of the municipal police of Tepalcatepec, detailed that after the warnings on social networks, elements of the agency were deployed in various communities.
Additionally and without specifying whether they were CJNG criminals, Mendez Cisneros said that “they are advancing towards the municipal seat attacking the communities of Plaza Vieja, El Bejuco, La Romera and Carapuato and not on the side of Pinolapa.”
For months, both criminal organizations have been fighting for control of the territory and it is the residents who were caught in this fierce fight. The municipality of Tepalcatepec, located east of Michoacán, has war fronts that refuse to end. Both the residents and the authorities of the region live subjected to the enormous levels of violence that the United Cartels and the CJNG exert for the control of the state.
In addition to this, the law of the strongest has taken hold of Tepalcatepec, because according to various media, the group Cárteles Unido is supported by the Michoacan authorities, who intend to remove the organization led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the Mencho.
The inhabitants of Michoacán wake up every day with a news more macabre than the previous one. On September 1, through social networks, it became known to the public about the narcomantas hanging in Coahuayana and Aquila. These were signed by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
The narco-message warned that Héctor Zepeda, aka the Commander Teto, alleged self-defense of Michoacán and linked to the United Cartels, has the support of the mayor of Coahuayana, Gil RuizThis after a photograph of the municipal president with the self-defense group was released.
“So that you know, we are going to fight as long as necessary until we put an end to those scourges (United Cartels), we will be forced to fight with the government for being sold and corrupt. Atte. CJNG, ”the message reads.
