Electric mobility in cities seems to be going through a good time. At least in terms of the number of companies that provide services with vehicles that do not pollute, whether they are cars, motorcycles, bicycles or scooters. The last to arrive has been Yadea, the first manufacturer of electric scooters in the world that has announced that it will deploy in Spain your fleet of mopeds, motorcycles and scooters (not bicycles). It has also ruled out that they can be used in modality motosharing.
These motorcycles, which can be driven with a B car license (and three years old), are loaded with technology, with more efficient batteries and wireless charging systems. The objective is to put an end to the great problem of electric vehicles: their long charging times.
A market with more and more electric motorcycles
The landing of YADEA in Spain is not by chance, since it is a market where we are beginning to notice a takeoff in the registration of two-wheeled electric vehicles, both in individuals and in fleets for companies. In fact, 2021 closed with 11,836 units registered (between mopeds and electric motorcycles), and it was the first year in which the private channel was positioned as the first sales channel, above companies and rentals.
During their activity in Spain they will have to face other more consolidated companies, mainly Silence, Niu and one of the best known by all: SEAT.
Ultra-fast wireless charging
YADEA’s main technological novelty is its battery charging systems. On the one hand, wireless charging through which, leaving the motorcycle on a platform, it is possible to recharge up to 85% of the battery.
And on the other, the patented ultra-fast charging through which is capable of charging lithium batteries up to 80% in 20 minutes. In the future YADEA foresees full charges in just 5 minutes. This would respond to one of the biggest problems that motorcycle rental companies face, for example: having vehicles stopped due to discharged batteries and the excessive time it takes to replace a battery, charge it and use it again in another vehicle.
To achieve this fast charging, YADEA has used a system based on a number of automotive-grade technologies, such as high and low voltage insulation, and insulation leakage monitoring and protection.
But not only that because YADEA is also working on improving the efficiency of lithium batteries themselves.guaranteeing a battery life of five years and with resistance to a wide range of temperatures thanks to the use of an antifreeze electrolyte.
In terms of autonomy and also thanks to more efficient engines, YADEA motorcycles are capable of reaching 100 kilometers per hour and obtaining a range of 100 kilometers, much higher than the rest of the electric vehicles on the market.
