What’s happening?
Tiggo 2 Pro comes to compete in a saturated segment. Subcompact SUVs or crossovers have become the first choice for first-time consumers who don’t want a sedan and the first approach to a brand. Virtually all volume brands have a model with these characteristics in their catalog and Chirey is now entering this market with the aim of generating sales volume.
“We believe that Tiggo 2 Pro can be a very good alternative in the segment and we even believe that we can attract customers from the sedan segment,” says José Ángel Sánchez, vice president of Chirey México.
Tiggo 2 Pro competes directly with Chevrolet Groove, Fiat Pulse and Toyota Raze. With a promise of immediate delivery, it could even attract customers from Seat Arona or Nissan Kicks.
Tiggo 2 Pro: versions and equipment
Ricardo Arvizu, the brand’s product manager, explained that the models will be available in two versions: Comfort and Luxury. Both will have a 1.0L turbocharged engine which offers a power of 101 hp and a torque of 110 lb-ft, coupled to a transmission CVT.
This type of engine, 1 L turbo, is the smallest and one of the most efficient available in the Mexican market. The Volkswagen Group introduced it at the end of 2020 in its crossover Nivus and has extended it to most of the smaller models. The Volkswagen Virtus sedan and the Seat Arona incorporate it.
Now Tiggo 2 Pro also incorporates it in its two versions. Both versions will also get a rearview camera with dynamic guides, power-adjustable side mirrors with turn signals, LED headlamps, proximity sensor for door opening and closing, and a 10.25 infotainment touch screen inches.

Both versions will also include Hill Start Assist (HAC), Hill Descent Assist (HDC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control (TCS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System ( TPMS) and the anti-lock braking system.
One of the most notable differences between the two versions is in the instrument panel and sound system. The Comfort version has a 3.5-inch digital instrument panel and four speakers, while the Luxury version has a seven-inch panel and six speakers.
Mexico is one of the two global markets, apart from Chile, to have this configuration. It will soon be launched in China, Russia and other Eastern European markets.
Prices and availability
The Tiggo 2 Pro pre-sale began on April 21 and will continue for a few more weeks, with the option to reserve the vehicle with a deposit of 5,000 pesos.
Chirey’s commercial vice president explained that the price of the version Comfort is 359,900 pesoswhile that of the version Luxury is 384,900 pesos.
Initially, the company will sell 2,000 units of the most equipped version of the model and in the following weeks another shipment will arrive with the entry version.
Contrary to what happens with other manufacturers that compete in the segment, which still have limited availability due to the lack of some components, Chirey ensures that it has sufficient inventory to guarantee immediate delivery. “Our goal is to supply all the units that the market demands,” said Arvizu.
