Tejada Shaar will preside over the confederation for the period 2021-2022, replacing José Manuel López Campos, who was in office from March 2018 to September 2021.
Héctor Tejada Shaar began his working life as a merchant. He is an industrial engineer from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. He arrived at Concanaco Servytur as president of the Committee of the Historic Center in León, then he assumed various positions until he became president of Canaco in Guanajuato.
The businessman was elected by majority to preside over the Concanaco Servytur, during the 105th Ordinary General Assembly of the confederation, which was held on September 7.
Tejada Shaar said that in his administration he will focus on the construction of agreements and unity, as a fundamental basis to achieve the proper balance between needs, proposals, resources and actions.
It will also seek to digitize the sales systems of Mexican companies affiliated with the confederation, as well as the mechanisms and relations with the government to have a regulatory improvement that facilitates the opening of new businesses.
“We have assumed the responsibility of rebuilding the foundations of the tertiary sector, so that it continues to be one of the most important pillars of the economy and social stability of Mexico, in addition to consolidating our national leadership based on a responsible, ethical, reliable representation, inclusive and technically feasible ”, he mentioned in his first speech as the new president of the confederation.
Tejada Shaar recognizes that the next period in charge of Concanaco Servytur will be challenging, since trade, services and tourism have been among the sectors most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he assures that a new stage begins for the confederation that will be marked by renewal.
Canacos and Canacopes at odds
Dozens of members of the Concanaco expressed their surprise at the welcome that the CCE gave Héctor Tejada as the new president of the confederation.
