And September is gone, a month in which the Bitwares team was in full swing testing various video game releases, both AAA and indie. Don’t you know which games to buy? We leave you a list with the highest scores.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R (PC/PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S/Nintendo Switch) – 9.0
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R is a product of the highest quality within the industry. It not only works as an excellent fighting game, but also as a tribute to this great series. The All Star Battle mode is one of the best I’ve seen in recent years of singleplayer content within the genre. I recommend it to Jojo fans above all, but for those who know about fighting games, there is a great fighting game here.
Developed by CyberConnect2 Co. Ltd. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, we have this excellent remake of the 2013 game. Available on almost all platforms, with many improvements and extra content, it is the best way to experience this amazing fighting game.
NBA 2K23 (PC/PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S/Nintendo Switch) – 8.8
NBA 2k23 is a much improved version of the game modes of its previous version. From the rest of the technical aspects modifications are observed and although not all of them seem mandatory, they are worth noting. It’s a brilliant basketball video game in a landscape that unfortunately has no competition and in some situations, is notorious. We hope that contenders in the field will emerge in the near future so that the people of Visual Concepts do not rest on their laurels.
Basketball fans have to rejoice over the release of NBA 2K23, the famous simulator title for that sport. Although during the review I will analyze the most relevant (and repetitive) aspects, it is important to point out that the value of the delivery (quite high for our Latin American pockets) has a good percentage to do with the “23”. And no, I’m not talking about the weird Jim Carrey movie.
Return to Monkey Island (PC/Nintendo Switch) – 8.8
Return to Monkey Island is a game that does not try to innovate although it feels a little fresh and a little old. A mix of styles. Surely those who accompanied the adventure from its beginnings will enjoy it much more, but also those who discover the saga now and will be curious to know what is the secret of Monkey Island?
Devolver Digital, LucasFilm Games and Terrible Toybox with the guidance of Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman (although without Tim Schafer) present Return to Monkey Island, the sixth game in the franchise (but the third).
Forests (PC/Nintendo Switch) – 8.8
Foretales manages to combine the classic of card games and the classic of narrative adventures and give us a product that feels completely new, fresh. Even his story, which in general terms is quite repetitive, manages to overcome the obstacle of commonplaces. The title is also accompanied by a captivating graphic section and a narration that adds a more than necessary plus.
Do you like card games but are you bored that they are all the same? Are you passionate about adventures where you make your own decisions? Then I have the ideal game for you: Foretales, developed by Alkemi.
Metal: Hellsinger (PC/PS5/Xbox Series X/S) – 8.4
Metal: Hellsinger isn’t the first game to use heavy metal or be a rhythm shooter; but everything he proposes he does well. The hours I spent were totally addictive and even stayed with me when I pulled it out and kept nodding along to the music. I think I need an exorcism.
One of the most anticipated games for lovers of heavy metal is here. Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm shooter from the Swedish studio The Outsiders.
Splatoon 3 (Nintendo Switch) – 8.2
Splatoon is one of those deliveries that are always enjoyed, whether for a small game with friends or competitive fury battles. In my personal experience, it is one of the few competitive ones that I really enjoy and it is no small thing. One of the negative points is the lack of Latin American servers, which translates into some high ping games and not much enjoyment. Recommendation: If you are interested in moving in the competitive field, beyond considering having a good internet service, consider having the USB to Ethernet adapter, or failing that, an OLED Switch, since drops and connection errors are commonplace. .
During the year 2015, Nintendo welcomed us with the news of a new port. For those who are not regulars of the big N it may not be a big deal, but for the loyal fans the fact that this news came out was simply spellbinding.
Soulstice (PC/PS5/Xbox Series X/S) – 8.0
Sousltice is a great hack and slash. He pays great homage to works like Claymore, Berserk, and Devil May Cry in his aesthetics and combination of attacks. His cameras can be a challenge, but the title is so flashy that it’s worth skipping the issue.
